ASHP State Affiliate Presidents and Executives,

I want to make you aware of an ASHP Advantage live webinar, “Making USP <797> as Easy as 123: Overcoming Sterile Compounding Insourcing Challenges and Adult Versus Pediatric Considerations”, taking place on Tuesday, April 14 from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. ET. This webinar is free and available to ASHP members and non-members. It qualifies for Compounding CE for both pharmacist and technician credit. Please feel free to pass along to your members. It is provided by ASHP and supported by an educational grant from Pfizer Inc.

Here is the program anouncement that can be included in your member emails or newsletters:

"Making USP <797> as Easy as 123: Overcoming Sterile Compounding Insourcing Challenges and Adult Versus Pediatric Considerations”

    Webinar held on Tuesday, April 14 from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. ET.

The United States Pharmacopeia General Chapter 797 (USP <797>) defines the minimum standards for sterile compounding that are critical for patient safety. This educational activity will address ongoing challenges where pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and medication safety officers report questions including strategies to bring back or increase sterile compounding in healthcare facilities and associated considerations including resources, risk assessment, and financial analysis. Additionally, this activity will discuss special considerations for adult versus pediatric compounded sterile products (CSPs) including compatibility and stability considerations, and appropriate opportunities to use standardized concentrations. This activity will use case-based questions to compare scenarios with adult patients and pediatric populations to demonstrate the differences and nuances in these patient populations with CSPs.

This webinar is free and available to ASHP members and non-members. It qualifies for Compounding CE for both pharmacist and technician credit. It is provided by ASHP and supported by an educational grant from Pfizer Inc.

Get more information and register here: www.ashp.org/USP797.

Please take advantage of this benefit to ASHP State affiliates and make your members aware of this free compounding CE for both pharmacists and technicians held on Tuesday, April 14 from 1:00 - 2:30pm  ET.

    Thanks!
